IN-STORE EVENTS AND GAMEPLAY

​PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR EVENT LANDSCAPE HAS DRAMATICALLY CHANGED WITH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. EVENTS ARE NOT CURRENTLY POSSIBLE TO HOST DUE TO INDOOR SOCIAL DISTANCING AND CAPACITY CAPS, BUT WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO HOST THESE EVENTS AGAIN SOON . PLEASE BEAR WITH US, AND KEEP AN EYE ON OUR HOME PAGE, FACEBOOK PAGE, AND OUR LOCAL HEALTH UNIT FOR UPDATES.

WHAT KIND OF EVENTS DO WE HOST AT SCALLIWAG TOYS?

​One of the best parts of being an FLGS, or "Friendly Local Game Store", is being a hub of activity and community where folks can come and play games of all kinds together. Here at our store, we have tables permanently set up to allow for folks to casually play games, but also to allow for more formal, scheduled events like workshops, tournaments, and more. Some examples of in-store events that we host include:

• Magic the Gathering
  • Prerelease Parties
  • Friday Night Magic
  • Commander casual play
• Warhammer 40k and Age of Sigmar
  • Casual full-scale matches (pre-scheduled with us please - drop-ins will turned away)
  • Kill Team tournaments
  • Blood Bowl
  • Painting competitions (some elements often done at home)
• Open Gaming - every Thursday [SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO COVID]
  • Board games, Magic pick-up games and Commander, anything goes!
• Tabletop Roleplaying Games
  • Dungeons & Dragons
  • DIY custom adventures made by you and your friends

  • ​We are now officially a sanctioned play store for the Pokemon Trading Card Game, but due to the pandemic will not be hosting our Pokemon League in-store until it is safe to do so. We will also eventually be looking to host board game tournaments, workshops and in-store activities related to citizen science / community science, arts & crafts, and more - be sure to follow us on Facebook for your most up-to-date news on what we're up to.
