With Ontario's stage 3 Covid reopening plan, we have increased in-store player capacity to 16 people for Magic and other small-footprint tabletop games. We still only have capacity for a maximum of two Warhammer tables at a time. All in-store play is expected to occur with social distancing and face covering rules still in effect. Those who have health restrictions related to face coverings should contact us well in advance regarding in-store play, and may be advised against playing for extended close quarter interactions for their safety and the safety of other players.

If you would like to book a spot in our gaming space for Magic and/or Warhammer gameplay, please reach out to us by phone, Facebook or email. Check out our event calendar and booking/play policies below. You can also find our event postings on our Facebook page.

EVENT CALENDAR FOR IN-STORE PLAY

Days with events listed on the calendar are when spots have already been reserved. Magic events take place on a first-come-first-served basis, with max capacity currently at 16 players per session.

IN-STORE PLAY BOOKING DETAILS & POLICIES

ALL in-store players must adhere to the rules and codes of conduct that are connected to the games they are playing, as well as our store's code of conduct. For more information on what these entail, please read your game's rules and regulations carefully, expect the basic requirements of safety, good sportsmanship, play space stewardship/cleanliness, and fairness. Never forget that the ultimate goal is to ensure everybody has fun!

We have only listed policies below for the gaming that is currently active in the store. Please check back later for additional gaming options once we are able to offer them, including tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons. Thank you for your continued patience!
WARHAMMER & OTHER TABLETOP WARGAMING
  • We will ensure that two tables will be available in-store for tabletop wargaming play during regular store hours.
  • When arranging a booking, you will be required to have an opponent confirmed and provide their name to us in order to have a table reserved for you. This will ensure that everyone has fair access to a table at convenient times.
  • Bookings should be made at least a day in advance - requests made outside of store hours, especially late at night, are not guaranteed, so please do not leave bookings to the last minute.
  • Unless otherwise noted or requested, sessions for Warhammer will be 4 hours long. If you require more or less time (ex. you are doing a Kill Team match), please let us know so we can maintain an accurate calendar that is open to other folks who may want to play as well.
  • Players are asked to clean their play space after they are finished, and return all terrain components and boards to their storage location in the store, and return chairs and tables in the play space to their original location. Any food or beverage detritus should be cleaned up as well.
  • If you require an additional table during play to hold extra army components etc, please ask us for the folding tables we have for this purpose, unless there are no other events scheduled in the store. This will help us to ensure the permanent tables are free for gameplay.
MAGIC THE GATHERING
  • Please watch our Facebook Events and Event Calendar for pre-scheduled Magic events. We have regular weekly sessions scheduled for multiple formats of play, but these are subject to change according to other events that may happen in the store.
  • Drop-in casual Magic play in small groups or pairs my be done without pre-booking, however we still recommend connecting with us in advance or checking the Event Calendar to ensure no other events are taking place that may prevent you and your party from having space to play.
  • All players looking to participate in organized play (ex. Modern, Standard, Pioneer sessions) should show up 10-15 minutes in advance to allow for pre-registration and to ensure that there are enough players for the session to fire. We cannot promise that all scheduled events will fire, so showing up on time will help to make sure an event will take place. Latecomers will be added to events, however they will receive a loss for the first round. Those who show up later than round 1 will not be permitted to join.
  • Players must sit at the tables with the wood-framed screens that have been made to provide vapor barriers between everyone. Social distancing and masks are still required, and frequent hand-washing and/or sanitizing is strongly encouraged.
  • Given the close quarters of the play space even with the barrier frames, personal hygiene and cleanliness remains very important, especially during the hot summer months. All players are expected to be fully clothed and reasonably clean while playing in-store.
  • Thursday nights are still designated for Open Gaming, however we also welcome Commander players to drop by for casual play as well. Pre-booking is not required, but is recommended to ensure a spot is available.
  • To streamline registration and organized play in general, we highly recommend those who have smart phones to download the MtG Companion App, as it allows you to join sanctioned events using your Wizards Organized Play account and submit scores from your table. This helps us as the organizers, and helps you to keep track of your game along with us. It's still being finalized by WOTC so it can be a little glitchy, so please bear with us as we all work through its quirks together.
OPEN GAMING / BOARD GAMES
  • Thursday night is open gaming! Players are invited to play any of our in-store library of board games. Those who are not related or within the same personal COVID bubble will be required to use the wooden-framed barriers on their table.
  • Players may also bring a board game of their own to play in-store, or play a game they have purchased from the store.
  • If you would like to play a board game and grab a coffee or snack on the shared patio space hosted out front by our lovely neighbours, the French bistro L'Auberge de France Wednesday to Saturday, you are welcome to borrow one of our easy-to-play games by signing it out for free with us. Ask us in-store for details!
  • Those who would like to play a board game in-store at any other time, or would like a tutorial on how to play a board game, please contact us to book a space. If you are looking for additional players, we may be able to accommodate depending on the player count required and how the game works within the current COVID social distancing parameters.

We Would Love to Have You Visit Soon!
