The renowned artist Pablo Picasso once famously said that he had spent a lifetime learning how to draw like a child. The creative instinct is very strong in young children; they like making things -- and often for them the end result is not as important as the process. We recommend open-ended and creative kits for the young artist, which allow the maximum freedom of expression. Older children often wish to produce a specific product (a "horse that looks like a horse", for example) -- and for them, the more targeted craft kits are appropriate.
